The restaurant offers a variety of noodle bowls along with Chinese street food snacks such as fish balls and beef skewers . Try their signature Volcano Soup with sesame paste, chili oil, Sichuan pepper, ground beef, sliced beef, green onion, greens, and a slice of American cheese. While the cheese sounds weird, it works out well in a nostalgic mac-and-cheese sort of way.

@Istanbultucson is expanding to MARANA!

The family-run Turkish restaurant is opening a second location, Istanbul Mediterranean Express, at 5660 W. Cortaro Farms Rd., Suite 100.

The fast-casual concept will feature about 75% of the original menu, plus two exclusive offerings: build-your-own Kumpir, a Turkish stuffed baked potato, and fresh in-house ground doner. The restaurant is currently working through permits and remodeling, with a grand opening date expected to be announced soon.

BK was the only Tucson restaurant included. Writer Bill Esparza highlighted its combination of Sonora-style carne asada and Sonoran hot dogs, a pairing he noted is distinct to Arizona. Benjamin and Karel Galaz, originally from Nacozari, Sonora, opened the restaurant in 1994.
