On Monday, December 15, Tucson will become home to the first cashew-based ice cream parlor, Cashew Cow at 16 South Eastbourne Avenue in the Broadway Village. Except, itâs not really ice cream.
Cashew Cow is a non-dairy, cashew-based alternative to ice cream. But, donât roll your eyes just yet. If youâve ever tasted any of the numerous varieties of non-dairy ice cream on the market made from almonds, coconut, and soy, you know that some are better than others, but for the most part, they arenât that satisfying. Cashew Cow is different. You seriously wonât believe youâre not eating traditional ice cream made from dairy.
âWhether someone can eat regular ice cream or not, I think they will love Cashew Cow,â says owner, Jennifer Newman. âWe think the product and flavors weâve developed are delicious and can hold their own next to any type of ice cream â be it traditional or an alternative.â

Using all natural, high quality ingredients, Cashew Cow will open with seven flavors including:
- Vanilla
- Chocolate
- Vanilla Orange Cream
- Coffee
- Pumpkin
- Strawberry
- Mint Chip
In addition to the opening lineup of flavors, Newman plans on rolling out a new flavor every few weeks.
Cashew Cowâs regular hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 until 9pm and until 10pm Friday and Saturday. Cashew Cowâs frozen dessert will be available by the scoop or to take home in pints and quarts.
