The momentum of Tucson’s craft beer scene continues to grow strong with Ermanos Craft Beer & Wine bar, now open at 220 N. 4th Avenue.

Brothers Eric and Mark Erman along with a talented design team, including Saywells Design and Rob Paulus Architects, have succeeded in creating a warm and modern environment for grabbing a pint or glass of wine with gourmet gastropub fare.

Ermanos is sure to be a hit among the most (and least) discerning beer consumers with an impressive lineup of brews from local breweries such as Dragoon, Iron John’s, and Pueblo Vida to out of state varieties such as New York’s Ommegang and even the well-known TecatĂ©.

Eric Erman, a talented brewer hailing from Wyncoop Brewing in Colorado, clearly has the palate and skill set to curate a diverse tap list of craft brews in a variety of styles and price points.

Ermanos features a main bar housing 24 craft beer taps, a second bar towards the back of the building with ten beers on tap, and a patio at the rear of the pub.

Owner Mark Erman said they foresee a future collaborative relationship between Ermanos and Public Brew House and Coffee, set to open just steps from their back patio. They certainly won’t have far to roll the Public House kegs for delivery.

While sharing a green chile cheeseburger, roasted corn, chorizo flatbread, and Historic Brewing Golden Ale at Monday night’s soft opening, I witnessed a handful of giddy local beer geeks and brewers, delighting over the tap list and debating what to try first. Tucson’s tight knit craft beer community is excited to welcome Ermanos into the fold and see another successful outlet at which they will showcase their brews.

Ermanos has a chic atmosphere, great beer and wine selection, fantastic food, reasonable prices, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff capable of making great suggestions and serving your drink in the proper glassware. This little beer and wine gastropub is destined to become downtown Tucson’s new favorite casual date joint.
