In entirely unsurprising (we already know this) news, El Güero Canelo was included in Thrillist’s roundup of The 21 Best Hot Dog Joints In America.

This isn’t the first time a national publication, or Thrillist, has proclaimed their love for El Güero Canelo, widely considered the number one place to get your favorite bacon-wrapped, bolillo-hugged indulgence.

Yes, the Sonoran Dog receives much acclaim near and far, and rightfully so. Daniel Contreras has mastered the art of piling chopped tomatoes, pinto beans, onions, yellow mustard, jalapeño sauce, and mayo inside that toasty roll and plans to keep it that way. Hence the “no substitutions” policy.

“Yeah, everybody and their mother calls out Daniel Contreras’ hot dog stand for being possibly the best Sonoran dog in the country,” stated Thrillist writer Andy Kryxa. “But guess what? Mom’s sometimes right.”

Other notable hot dog joints named include Lafayette Coney Island, Top Dog in Berkeley, and New York City’s Asiadog, among others.
