Lions, tigers, and wine — oh my.

(GMT-07:00)

Reid Park Zoo is getting wild with multiple wineries, distributors, and distilleries to host the annual Wine Gone Wild from 6 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

Take part in samples of wine and spirits from wineries, distributors, and distilleries, all while eating up bite-size treats from Tucson Originals restaurants and POPPED Artisan Popcorn. Plus, there’s going to be live music from Santa Pachita, and other fun activities, such as wine glass painting with Creative Juice and a “Pampering Zone.”

Sure, you’re drinking delicious wine, but all of the four-legged, two-legged, winged, and slithery residents at the zoo are benefiting as well.

Proceeds from ticket sales help keep the smiles on their faces every time you visit.

Tickets are $65 per person, $60 for zoo members, and $25 for designated drivers. Admission includes samples, a commemorative wine glass, and access to all of the entertainment.

The prices will go up on the day of the event, so it’ll be best to purchase tickets ahead of time.

If you’re looking for a beast of an experience, consider the “Winos for Rhinos” VIP Package for $120 per person. It includes the general admission ticket goodies, but you’ll have the opportunity to meet one of Reid Park Zoo’s rhinos, while learning about their conservation efforts, as well. (You’ll also be able to get into the event 30 minutes before everyone else.)
