Toronto-based board game cafe chain Snakes & Lattes signed a lease at 988 E. University Blvd., Globe Newswire reported.
The two-story space formerly housed clothing retailer American Apparel. The business is scheduled to open in fall.
Snakes & Lattes offers food and drinks alongside a library of thousands of games. The menu features an assortment of bar food, poutine, thin crust pizza, desserts, beer, wine, and cocktails.
The cafe’s name was based on the Indian board game Snakes & Ladders, which is the ancestor to the modern board game Chutes & Ladders.

This will be the fifth Snakes & Lattes location. The first US location is in Tempe.
