After many years of calling Fourth Avenue home, Lindon Reilly has made the move downtown and is behind the grill at Thunder Bacon Donut Bar at 33 N. Sixth Ave. where Donut Bar is currently located.
Reilly announced a change in direction for Thunder Bacon Burger Co. in January, and this new move to join forces with Donut Bar is a match made in donut burger heaven. Over the years, Reilly has made a name for himself with his exuberant burger creations, and Donut Bar had just recently launched a savory sandwich and burger menu collaboration with local chefs.
“I’m excited to be downtown and to be joining Donut Bar in this new adventure,” said Reilly. “The decision to move off of Fourth Avenue wasn’t something we did in haste but ultimately felt it needed to happen. Thunder Bacon Burger and Donut Bar had collaborated in the past and now we get to have both concepts under one roof, which will be yielding some fun and unique fusion between the two. I’m also looking forward to collaborating with other places and chefs here in the near future as well.”
Well, it turns out he’s bringing a whole lot. He’s bringing over the greatest hits from Thunder Bacon Burger Co.
Add tater tots, french fries, or sweet potato fries to your order for an extra $3, or load ’em up Thunder Style, Dirty Thunder Style, Chipotle Ranch, or Chili Verde for an additional fee.
The new menu is available now and they’re also hosting a Grand Reopening Weekend celebration to kick off Donut Bar’s three-year anniversary. Burgers, bacon, beer, and doughnuts? Sounds like a fun party!
“Lindy is a Tucson staple, respected restaurateur, burger god, and just a great guy,” said Nick Mueller, owner of Donut Bar. “So, when this opportunity presented itself it was a no-brainer. We couldn’t think of a better partner to join forces with to create a cohesive menu that the community can enjoy throughout the day.”
“We’re so excited about this opportunity and look forward to serving up some amazing food!”
This is all in addition to the savory sandwiches that launched earlier this year as part of Donut Bar’s collaboration with local chefs such as Gary Hickey from Si Charro! Concepts, Paul Reyes of Ciao Down, and Don Rubino of Bawker Bawker Cider House.

“When I became involved with Donut Bar, my goal was to connect with local celebrity chefs and collaborate, primarily to make doughnut sandwiches,” said Sean Denlinger of Donut Bar. “Our initial connection from the Knife Fights events sparked an awesome relationship that has blossomed into the most delicious partnership to hit Downtown Tucson. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Thunder Bacon Burgers.”
