Beyond Bread is Now Open at the Mount Lemmon Lodge

The locally owned and operated cafe that’s been rising to the occasion since 1998 has taken its bread, sandwiches, and soup to new heights — literally.

On Sunday, July 23, Beyond Bread officially opened inside the Mount Lemmon Lodge at 12833 N. Sabino Canyon Park.

Beyond Bread is opening daily from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., which is perfect for the early risers or and the later-in-the-day munchies. Speaking of waking up early, it’s not required to book a room at the lodge to eat at the cafe so pop your head in there whenever you’d like (when they’re open, that is).

Breakfast is served every day from 7 – 11 a.m. and includes items like Otis’ Oatmeal, quiche, a yogurt parfait, and a Summerhaven Sunrise — an egg, Swiss cheese, and tomato sandwich. The rest of the menu is similar to what you’ll find at around 2,000 feet (in Tucson) at 6260 E. Speedway Blvd. and 3026 N. Campbell Ave.

The Mount Lemmon Lodge, located at 7,700 feet and nestled in the town of Summerhaven, Arizona, began construction in 2021. For years, there had always been a lodge in Summerhaven — a place for folks to stay while escaping the heat down below in Tucson — but the Aspen Fire in 2003 destroyed the former Alpine Lodge.

Now, 20 years later, the Mount Lemmon Lodge is now taking reservations for any of its 16 rooms, creating space for families to make new memories up on the mountain.

The new cafe is open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. daily.
