On Friday, March 29, Pita Jungle is inviting everyone to get their pita fix while contributing to a good cause in celebration of National Pita Day.

Just like in past years, the all-day promotion will raise money for Arizona non-profit Waste Not, whose mission is creating sustainable food systems that help people and the planet flourish.

“We’re thrilled to once again join forces with Waste Not,” said Bassel Osmani, Co-Founder of Pita Jungle. “Their commitment to repurposing culinary surplus to combat food insecurity resonates deeply with our values. We’re proud to support Waste Not’s impactful mission, and on National Pita Day, we’re excited to contribute proceeds from our promotion to further their noble cause.”

For every pita sandwich sold at participating locations, Pita Jungle will donate $1 to Waste Not.

This National Pita Day promotion is valid for dine-in guests and takeout orders with pita options including the Mediterranean Roasted Chicken (Shawarma), Falafel Pita, Grilled Chicken Pita, Gyro, Philly Chicken and Philly Steak Pitas, and vegan pita offerings.

“Pita Jungle has been such an incredible partner to Waste Not for the past ten years,” said Hillary Bryant, Executive Director of Waste Not. “Their support means that hundreds of hungry people are fed through our programs.”

In 2023, raised nearly $1,873 on National Pita Day for Waste Not. The nearly $2,000 will contribute to Waste Not’s work to connect tens of thousands of Arizonans with quality food that would have otherwise gone to waste.

“40% of all food is sent to the landfill, while nearly one million Arizonans suffer from hunger,” said Bryant. “Working with community partners like Pita Jungle to raise awareness about these issues and the solution Waste Not brings is incredibly powerful and ensures we can help people and the planet flourish.”

In 2022, Waste Not rescued nearly 2.4 million pounds of food.

Pita Jungle is located at 7090 N. Oracle Rd., #128. For more information, visit pitajungle.com.
