20 Taprooms & Tasting Rooms to Check Out in Tucson

Updated August 29, 2024

Whether it be a craft beer taproom or a tasting room offering wine or distilled spirits like whiskey, Tucson has a splendid selection. Heck, some of the following taprooms offer wine and craft beer.

Also, the following taprooms/tasting rooms don’t include local businesses that are more restaurant-forward, are local breweries (check out our other guide for that), or bars that specialize in serving all types of beverages.

Learn how we create our guides here.

A. Toraño Wines

The Toraño Family relocated to Arizona in 2023, opening their flagship tasting room in central Tucson. Alongside their lineup of single vineyard wines — Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Syrah — A. Toraño Wines’ tasting room features other small production family-owned wines that aren’t always available in Arizona.

Plus, you can order pizza from Falora and enjoy it in the tasting room!

Arizona Beer House

Arizona Beer House has tons of great local, regional, and national beers on tap, and don’t forget to check out the multiple fridges to be sure you get a brew that’ll pair perfectly with grub from a nearby food truck.

Arizona Wine Collective

Nestled in the St. Philip’s Plaza, you’ll find a wine list, be it for a tasting, glass, or bottle, featuring wine from more than 20 Arizona wineries. Their unwavering dedication to only serving local wine earned Arizona Wine Collective “Certified Retailer” status under the UNESCO City of Gastronomy designation for metro Tucson.

This poppin’ spot in Marana is a beer and wine bar/bottle shop that has a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. They usually have a few food trucks parked outside throughout the week and the patio is perfect for catching an Arizona sunset.

Casa Marana

Casa Marana features a balanced selection of beers, wine, cocktails, and some tasty pizzas. It’s wood-fired pizza — you can see the huge oven behind the bar — and are some of our favorite pies in Marana. They also maintain an exceptionally active events calendar. Out on the patio, you can catch a sweet sunset if you time it out just right.

Casa Video and Film Bar

Casa Video has gone through a few changes since then, like partitioning the building so other businesses could set up shop (Marvelous Vintage and Kira Kira). Still, the video shop has at least 50,000 movie titles in stock to accompany its 20 beers on tap and hundreds of bottles and cans in the coolers. Plus, Casa has been a big supporter of local food trucks and has arguably one of the most up-to-date calendars in Tucson.

Craft, A Modern Drinkery

Don’t be distracted by the multiple Nintendo and Super Nintendo setups — Craft offers a solid stock of beer and wine to-go. Also, you can order Detroit-style pizza (whole or by the slice), pasta, salads, and some of the best breadsticks in town from Transplant Pizza.

The Gardens at Bear Canyon

With umbrellas and misters scattered among the curated landscaping and customized metalwork, this non-traditional, family-friendly gem can be enjoyed year-round. With games like bocce ball and cornhole, a rotating menu that includes some solid vegetarian options, an impressive selection of craft cocktails and beers, and live music throughout the month, you’ll be glad you checked it out for yourself.

GEORGE Wine Shop

Located right next door to Iron John’s Brewing, GEORGE Wine Shop specializes in small production family-owned wineries. It’s nice and cozy inside the shop, too! Taste a few of the wines on hand before taking a bottle of your own home. The tasting room also hosts events featuring wines from all around the world. Mark your calendars!

The Hoppy Vine houses a row of coolers consisting of craft beer, wine, and champagne as well as wine-based cocktails, sake, seltzers, and ciders. They’ve got you covered on that front, too, with offerings that include non-alcoholic beer, seltzers, canned mocktails, and even a “mocktail of the day.”

TraXide Taproom

Located on the bottom floor of the historic Coronado Hotel at 402 E. 9th St. (they’re not apartments), David and Johnna Meek repurposed the location as the home of their new concept, TraXide Taproom in 2023. The space most recently housed Dillinger Brewing. The concept continues to be a haven for craft beer enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of craft beer and ensuring there’s something on tap for every palate.

Tucson Hop Shop

To many, it’s known as an escape — a place where you can enjoy a cold beer, get lost in an intriguing conversation, and catch a fresh breeze outside on the patio. They think of it as their getaway from the everyday grind. Some plainly call it “Hop Shop.” No matter what it means to you or what you tend to call it, Tucson Hop Shop is a wonderful spot to simply hang out.

Not just beer but cocktails, too! While the outdoor seating is perfect for taking advantage of Tucson’s cool nights, there’s one more notable perk — the liquor license applies to the whole MSA Annex, so guests can walk around with their libations to check out the neighboring businesses in shipping containers.

Whiskey del Bac

If you’re a local whiskey lover, it’s likely you’ve taken sips of this spirit at a local bar or in the comfort of your own home, but if you haven’t, there’s no better time than now to stop by their distillery to learn more, sample their current selection, and take a bottle of your own home with you
