What’s your favorite stunt to perform at pool parties? Perhaps, the cannonball is first on the list before floating around on an inflatable alligator. Whatever it is, just make sure it’s fun and your summer isn’t a total bellyflop. If you need some assistance, though, this downtown hotel and restaurant group have you covered.
So, get those beach towels ready because AC Hotel by Marriott Tucson Downtown is inviting everyone to beat the heat on the scenic rooftop pool and lounge during its “Poolside Lounge Party Summer Series.”

The monthly series of themed pool parties is happening from Saturday, May 21 – Saturday, September 17, and DJ Walters the Don will be pumpin’ out the jams.
Plus, there’s going to be plenty of food and drinks to enjoy poolside. AC Hotel by Marriott Tucson Downtown is a part of Tucson-based LoveBlock Partners, which also oversees Good Oak Bar, HUB Ice Cream Parlor, HUB Restaurant & Ice Creamery, Little Love Burger, and more.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase — like burgers from Little Love Burger, ice cream from HUB Ice Cream Parlor, and drinks from the AC Hotel’s poolside lounge bar — as well as samples from party sponsors, Barrio Brewing Company and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
Tickets to each pool party are $25 each and are for folks 21 years old and older (leave the younger ones home for these fiestas). Cash or card will be accepted poolside and the number of tickets will be limited. It’ll be best to get your tickets earlier than later.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
