Some nights you just don’t feel like eating out. And, some nights you don’t feel like cooking, either. When this happens on the same night, there’s a problem.
Luckily, in this modern age of the ever-present food truck, you can bridge that duo of laziness by hitting up one of the many food truck roundups. It takes a little more effort than picking up take-out, but much less effort and commitment than hitting up a restaurant.
Tonight’s roundup, at The Beach on 5th Avenue just across from the Hotel Congress parking lot should prove to be an extra special roundup for a number of reasons.
For one, it’s one of the last times you’ll be able to play in the sand. Two, this roundup will feature a full bar and craft beer bar. Three, in addition to Hellfire Pizza Co., The Rolling Chef Taco Fusion, and Street Delights, Tucson Fat Noodle will finally make an appearance. They’ve made some appearances before but have been a bit difficult to peg with any consistency. Finally, the event will also feature live act Marvin and The Cloud Wall and if you stay out late enough (unlikely if laziness brings you here), at 9pm DJ Jed Baker takes over the “astro-turfed dance floor”.
The event starts at 6pm. A portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit Tucson’s chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild.
