HeeMee Coffee + Bakery is expanding with a second Tucson location near the University of Arizona campus at 800 E. University Blvd. in Main Gate Square.
The owners announced the upcoming expansion in a recent Instagram post, thanking supporters for helping make it happen.
“A dream, a sign, and a whole lot of love later… HeeMee Coffee + Bakery is officially opening a second location!” the bakery wrote on Instagram.
The new cafe will occupy a 2,828-square-foot space, roughly double the size of its original 1,300-square-foot downtown shop. For now, the owners have not announced an opening date, telling fans to “stay tuned”.
Downtown Origins and Menu
Seoul native HeeMee Kim launched the family-run bakery in June 2019 at 20 E. Congress St. in downtown Tucson. She drew from Korean, Japanese and French baking traditions to create her pastry menu. While ownership of the bakery has changed, the menu still retained its contemporary vibe and expanded its Korean lunch menu options.
