Downtown Kitchen + Cocktails, a restaurant that typically promotes kitchen staff internally have announced the search is on for a new Chef de Cuisine.
“We don’t bring on people from the outside very often,” said Janos Wilder, executive chef at DTKC. “It’s probably been 10 or 15 years since we brought someone from the outside in that position.”
A truly global restaurant, DTKC’s annual Around the Globe Culinary Tour has showcased cuisine from every continent sans Antarctica. With Tucson’s recent culinary attention, the global emphasis is growing even further.
“This is a phenomenal opportunity for the right candidate to work with a James Beard Foundation award-winning chef in the United States’ only UNESCO designated World City of Gastronomy,” said Devon Sanner, executive chef at Wilder’s venue space the Carriage House.
“We look forward to seeing who’s out there on the market and is interested in learning from us and teaching us, as well,” Wilder said. “The opportunity to learn and to be exposed to so many different things and cultures and techniques – it’s really something.”
Interested applicants should email devon@downtownkitchen.com.
