Although Tucson is currently thriving as a city of gastronomy, we’ve lost some outstanding restaurants over the past couple of decades. If you’ve missed your chance at some of these restaurants or would simply like to experience some of Tucson’s restaurant heritage, grab a seat at the Lost Restaurants of Tucson Dinner at the Carriage House at 6 p.m. Friday, June 10.
The dinner, inspired by local writer Rita Connelly’s book, Lost Restaurants of Tucson, includes appetizers, wine pairings, and five courses prepared by chefs from some of the beloved closed restaurants such as Café Terra Cotta, Jerome’s, The Palomino, and Fuego.
Seats are $125 per person for the dinner only or $150 per person which also include a signed copy of the book. A percentage of proceeds will benefit the Tucson Museum of Art Historic Block Restoration Fund. To make reservations, click here.

First course
- Crispy soft shell crab, polenta with salsa fresca, butter sauce
- Chef: Alan Zeman from Fuego
Second course
- Shrimp marucca with garlic and shallot butter, mushrooms, and sherry
- Chef: Jimmy Gekas from The Palomino
Third course
- Bacon-wrapped quail with pork carnitas, green corn tamale pie, squash sauce
- Chefs: Janos Wilder and Devon Sanner from Janos
Fourth course
- Blackened prime rib with bearnaise sauce and twice-baked tasso cheese potato
- Chefs: Jim Murphy and Marianne Banes from Jerome’s
Dessert
- Chocolate mousse pie
- Chefs: Donna Nordin and Don Luria from Café Terra Cotta
