Super Boof: Nugrun and Summus Cannabis Unveil New Vape Collaboration

Super Boof: Nugrun and Summus Cannabis Unveil New Vape Collaboration

Oct 25, 20242 min read

Nugrun, a Tucson-owned company rooted in cultivating a community focused on quality over quantity, is now cultivating a new experience for cannabis connoisseurs.

Joining forces with Arizona-based Summus Cannabis, the two companies introduced a limited-release, terp-forward edition of Nugrun’s flagship product: cannabis all-in-one vapes. This new edition dropped earlier this week on Tuesday, October 22 across Arizona.

“We at Nugrun are very excited about this collaboration,” said Ethan Van den Berg of Nugrun. “We’ve been longtime friends of the guys over at Summus and are grateful for the privilege of showcasing their genetics with our Live Resin.”

As a brand with the intention of putting extract first, nugrun uses whole plant/flower inputs only.

“In origin, we aimed to take on a problem with cannabis extraction, specifically solvent-based BHO, that most extract comes from flower with issues,” Van den Berg added. “[This] results in often sub-par quality resin extracts.”

So, how did this partnership come to be? Van den Berg, who believes an extract can “only be as good as the flower that went into it,” worked with the cultivators at Summus and together they chose a whole plant/flower extract featuring Summus’ Super Boof strain.

“Our Super Boof cut is one of our most popular strains in both flower and live hash rosin,” said Ryan Smith, Marketing Manager at Summus. “We’re more than excited to  see her born anew thanks to Nugrun.”

The limited edition is a cross between strains Black Cherry Punch and Tropicana Cookies and presents sweet citrus and grassy notes with a powerful terpene-forward aroma for which Nugrun is known.

While this is the first collaboration between Nugrun and Summus, Nugrun plans to partner with other local growers.

“Part of our mission statement is to elevate local cultivators in our state growing great flower,” said Van den Berg. “We aim to showcase it with our extracts!”

Where to Buy

The collaboration will be available locally at Desert Bloom Dispensary and in Patagonia at Releaf 85624. Across the state, the drop can be found at Ponderosa Dispensaries.

There were only 500 units made available, and once they’re gone, they’re gone! The good news is Tucson Doobie Members can score $15 off their nugrun purchase and pick up a free Summus Lava Cake Pre-roll at Desert Bloom Dispensary.
