Downtown Italian restaurant Reilly Craft Pizza & Drink officially opened its second location on the north side at 7262 N. Oracle Rd.
The project had a bit of a setback — like many things during the pandemic — because the restaurant was aiming to open up sometime in 2020. However, it’s time to award your patience with a wood-fired pizza or perhaps pasta and salad.

Reilly North quietly opened its doors right next to Tap & Bottle North on Sunday, August 1, giving visitors the option to grab a drink while they wait for their pizza to go.
“We’ve had a really warm welcome from Tap & Bottle next door,” said Courtney Fenton, General Manager of Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink. “We’re doing a lot of takeout for them which is wonderful and things are just ramping up.”
The 1,600-square-foot space previously housed the sandwich chain Subway and features an open kitchen and bar. Right now, there’s plenty of room in the dining room but an additional 30 to 40-seat patio is in the process of being finalized, too.

“The menu is identical to the downtown location except for the beer and wine list,” said Fenton. “Then we’re also offering soft-serve ice cream at the North location, which we don’t have downtown.”
If you’re partial to the downtown location, and maybe it’s been a while since you’ve visited the area of Ina and Oracle — which is sprouting new restaurants left in right, like The Landing — there’s a familiar feeling when walking into Reilly North.
“We tried to pull some of the architectural elements from downtown and repurpose them,” said Fenton. “We have a backlit wall that’s the same as in Tough Luck Club and the black steel that we have downtown as well. So, there’s a lot of the same elements but it also has a very sort of fresh take.”

Reilly North’s hours of operation replicate the downtown location’s. They’re closed on Monday, 5 – 9 p.m. on Tuesday – Thursday, 5 – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 5 – 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Also, expect to see new lunch hours in the next couple of weeks at the North location only.
So, what’s next for Reilly? The restaurant has a third concept in the works — a more “separate and more fine dining restaurant in downtown opening in the fall.”

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
