All-you-can-eat buffets typically fall into two categories with no middle ground.

On one end of the spectrum, you find lower quality ingredients, low prices, and a swath of cuisines, poorly represented.

At the other end of the spectrum, it’s a feast fit for royalty. If you haven’t figured it out already, Hacienda del Sol, the historic, world-class guest ranch and resort, specializes in this latter type of buffet for their Sunday brunch.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday, Hacienda del Sol’s upscale restaurant, The Grill offers an unparalleled spread. Beautifully arranged, even the pickiest of eaters will find something (or multiple somethings) to rave about. And there’s no shortage of awards to woo anyone who might be wary, including AAA™’s Four Diamond Award (2011), and Tucson Lifestyle Magazine’s The Top Six, Best Brunch, Best Romantic Dining, Best Wine List (2013), Best Restaurant for Out-Of-Town Guests (2013/2011), and Best Longtime Favorite (2011), and Tucson Weekly’s Best Brunch (2007, 2008, 2010-2013).

While bottomless mimosas abound and prepared items await, dedicated stations offer items to order, such as sliced prime rib, eggs Benedict, omelettes, and waffles. Additionally a variety of themes are featured regularly, such as French classic, Coq au Vin, Korean Bi Bim Bap, Hawaiian-inspired caramelized plantain bread pudding, and more.

Some of HDS’s regularly appearing items include blintzes, pasta, cheeses, smoked salmon, roasted vegetables, sushi, shrimp, salads and “heavenly” house-made desserts.

Seasonally, hand-picked fruit from the hotel grounds flavor the mimosas and brighten fruit trays while grounds-grown garden vegetables and herbs complement various dishes and stations.

Brunch is $42 per person, which includes bottomless mimosas. Come hungry.

“Thank you, Tucson, for one hell of a crazy, amazing, and sometimes terrible 7-year ride. We’ve truly loved it all, the good, the bad, and the difficult.”
