Scottsdale-based hospitality firm Square One Concepts is introducing The Funky Monk in the space that previously housed Wasted Grain, which they also owned.
A private ribbon cutting event with the Mayor and Tucson Chamber of Commerce begins at 4:45 p.m. on April 21. At 6 p.m., Funky Monk will then be open to the public.
Also a restaurant, bar, and nightclub, Funky Monk features a renovated interior with bright patchwork seating and patio seating. Daytime has a relaxed restaurant vibe, while nighttime provides a psychedelic lounge feel.
Music varies with genres ranging from throwbacks to top 40.
The food menu features their funky twist on popular appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pastas, and pizzas.
Beverages are on the more playful side with mules, floats, champagne cocktails, and more. The menu also features 28 beers on tap, 10 of which are Arizona beers.
The Funky Monk Menu Highlights
- Stuffed Mushrooms ($8) – goat cheese, chorizo, jalapeño, bread crumb
- Kale Salad ($10) – kale, mixed greens, chicken, avocado, sunflower seed, goat cheese, cranberries
- Funky Philly Sandwich ($10) – shaved chicken, cheese sauce, ‘shrooms, roasted red peppers, caramelized onion, chipotle aioli
- Disco-tec-a Pizza ($10) – roasted corn, chorizo, mozzarella, cotija, garlic butter, chipotle aioli, cilantro, fresh lime, tajin
- 24 Karat Mac ($14) – gold cheese sauce, prosciutto, parmesan, white truffle oil, bread crumbs, toasted ciabatta
- Brownie Skillet ($6)
