Truland Burgers & Greens is doubling its presence by the summer of 2025.
The local restaurant is set to open at 4821 E. Grant Rd., a building that used to house Panera Bread and Smashburger.

So, come next year, the location will be filled with burgers, salads, freshly-cut fries, milkshakes, and more, filling the vacant building at the Crossroads Festival shopping center. They’ll be neighbors to other businesses like First Watch, CupBop, and Roadhouse Cinemas.
In 2016, the owners of Choice Greens and Graze Premium Burgers opened the first Truland Burgers at 7332 N. Oracle Rd. The original idea was to make a restaurant that was a combined concept of the two — with table service as opposed to ordering at the counter.

The 3,900-square-foot restaurant space near the corner of Grant and Swan Roads will have an indoor dining area, a bar, and pet-friendly patio seating.
Truland Burgers uses gets its all-natural antibiotic- and hormone-free beef from Niman Ranch, tosses the patties between brioche buns, and then pairs ’em with freshly cut Kennebec potato fries.
There are plenty of salads on the menu, too — nearly 10 — including a Brussels & Bacon mix and a Fiesta Grain Bowl that includes sautéed spinach, black beans, roasted corn, caramelized onion, roasted red peppers, grilled jalapeño, garlic, feta, chile crema, whole grain brown rice, black barley, and daikon radish seeds (this bowl is loaded).

Stay tuned for an actual opening date but you can expect it to be within the next year (likely during the summer of 2025).
In the meantime, stop by the Oracle Road location or order one for takeout while sitting next door at Tap & Bottle North.
Truland Burgers & Greens’ new location will be at 4821 E. Grant Rd. The original location is found at 7332 N. Oracle Rd. For more information, visit trulandburgers.com. For more information about the other two concepts, visit choicegreens.com and grazepremiumburgers.com.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
