Drink in honor of gender equality with a $6 Sazerac cocktail at Stormin’ the Sazerac at the Parish 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 20 through midnight Friday, September 23.

The Parish is holding the event in honor of the historical event of the same name. The Sazerac Bar, known for serving the best Sazerac cocktails, originally served only male patrons. On September 26, 1949, a group of women entered anyways and the bartender cooperated, ending the female ban.

To celebrate beyond the Sazerac, the Parish will feature live music from female musicians.

After 13 years, Agustín Kitchen has permanently closed its doors at Mercado San Agustín. The space already has its next chapter lined up. Il Santo, an Italian concept from hospitality veteran Vito Prencipe and fifth-generation Tucsonan Bonnie Callahan, will take over the space. “I leave this chapter with mixed emotions as I say goodbye to our friends, patrons and colleagues at Agustín Kitchen. It’s with gratitude and admiration that I thank our managers, chefs, staff, and purveyors both old and new for their years of collaboration. @Frida_american_brasserie is getting closer to opening! Owners Charles and Frida Hunt now target late October for the doors to open at @Laencantadatucson, with a hopeful date of October 22. Ahead of opening, the team is hosting tasting nights at Villa Peru this week, featuring several courses from the new menu.
