While Maico was featured on Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern for their menudo and goat birria, they also offer affordable tacos. Go for the machaca or potato tacos.

The thick, house-made tortillas at Taqueria Pico de Gallo are the highlights. Skip the carne asada and go for one of the lengua or shrimp tacos. Don’t forget to BYOB.

Puffy flour tortillas and carnitas shine at Carnitas La Yoca. Adventurous eaters can try out rarer gelatinous options such as buche (pork stomach) and cuero (pork skin).

Nice mix of restaurants. La yoca is the spot for pork carnitas hands down. Fish tacos at DOG, and birria is a must at Guadalajara
