It’s no secret that Tucson in the winter is gorgeous. With all the recent gastronomic press however, Tucson’s culinary scene is also less of a secret than ever.
National Geographic chose Tucson as one of 10 in the world for its Best Winter Trips 2017 article. While Galle, Sri Lanka was highlighted “For the Warm Weather,” Tucson was featured “For the Food.”
“Why: Two words: Sonoran dog. Sure Tucson’s high-end fare fires up foodies. But it’s the affordable eats—like the aforementioned bacon-wrapped hot dog stuffed in a roll and smothered with pinto beans, salsa, onions, tomatoes, mayonnaise, and mustard—that tempt the taste buds of epicureans on a budget.“
Our own head foodie Adam Lehrman contributed to the article with recommendations for affordable eats.
