The midtown location is shutting its doors, but not before offering special deals

Tucson Tamale Company announced they will operate at their Broadway location until Sunday, September 23.

The tamale shop has operated its midtown location at 2545 E. Broadway Blvd. for the last decade, but due to an upcoming road widening project for Broadway Boulevard, they’re moving out.

“The Broadway closing is a significant milestone in our journey — it’s where it all began,” said co-owner Sherry Martin. “We’ve had so many amazing people walk through those doors, both customers and employees, and now our tamales are available in retail stores from coast to coast. With each tamale we ship, it is like a love letter from Tucson.”

In the meantime, they’re celebrating the past 10 years and offering specials deals on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23.

During their last weekend, Tucson Tamale will be offering two-for-one dine-in meals and two-for-one tamale packs for its final customers. The tamale packs are limited to six per person.

Although it’s an ending to where it all began, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a new beginning in their thoughts. Owners Todd and Sherry Martin said they hope to reopen in the same plaza once the construction has finished.

“We have a heart for the area and would love to always have a Tucson Tamale presence in the neighborhood,” they said in a press release.

Tucson Tamale’s other locations on 7286 N. Oracle Rd. and 7159 E. Tanque Verde Rd. will remain open.

For the time being, Tucson Tamale Company is located at 2545 E. Broadway Blvd. For more information, visit tucsontamale.com. Keep up with Tucson Tamale Company on Facebook.
