Batch Cafe & Bar has a reputation for doughnuts and whiskey, but don’t sleep on its other offerings.
The downtown restaurant launched its updated menu on Tuesday with a new design and several new items.
We sampled a few of the new items; here are the pics.
We Fly High ($11) features a combination of Iwai Japanese Whisky, Rose Vermouth, and club soda. The Antipasto Salad ($8) features rotini with salami, pepperoncini, mozzarella, goat cheese, artichoke, and sun-dried tomatoes dressed in the house vinaigrette.
Batch is no fancy Italian restaurant, but their Alfredo Pasta ($5 or $8) holds its own — the parmesan flavor stands out, as a real Alfredo sauce should. The Chicken Pita ($8) is a straightforward interpretation, except for the addition of the addictive spicy Batch sauce.
The Jon Hamm & Cheese ($9) does its name justice with house-made whiskey mustard. The ratio of the sauce, Black Forest ham, and provolone to bread is just right.
Batch Cafe & Bar is located at 118 E. Congress St. For more information, visit batchtucson.com.
