The shop is still getting settled in, but customers are welcome in to sample the wide variety of house-made flavors.

Desert Dream Ice Creamery quietly opened its new location at 210 N. Fourth Ave., which previously held Isabella’s Ice Cream.

The ice creamery was originally opened by Alden Greene in 1978 as DownEast Ice Cream in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine. Greene moved to Tucson and opened with a new brand, Desert Dream Ice Cream, at 1058 N. Campbell Ave.

Greene sold the business to customer and friend Zech Bergeron, who now owns Desert Dream with his brother Noah Bergeron. However, Greene is still at the shop creating ice cream and teaching the brothers.

While we haven’t sampled our way through the whole menu (yet), we recommend the cinnamon gingersnap flavor.

Operating hours are noon – 10 p.m. Tuesday – Friday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Saturday – Sunday.

Desert Dream Ice Creamery is located at 210 N. Fourth Ave. Keep up with Desert Dream Ice Creamery on Instagram.
