The annual campaign “Eat Dessert First” is making its way into certain Tucson restaurants during the weekend of Friday, April 19 – Sunday, April 21.
Every year, during the third weekend in April, Tucsonans honor Dana Morgan, who was diagnosed at four years old with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
After a second relapse at age 10, Morgan compiled a list of “fun family activities and adventures to celebrate ‘kicking cancer’s butt for the third time.'”
One of her choices was to eat her dessert first at one of her favorite restaurants. So, with that being said, you’re invited to do the same at any of this year’s participating restaurants.
The campaign raises funds for programs that research pediatric cancer and supports families dealing with the diagnosis. Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish, which provides incredible experiences for children with critical illnesses.
The restaurants are only participating on certain days, so take a look at the full list before making your plans and make sure to eat dessert first when you visit for a meal.
