Seafood is also available by the pound.

Louisiana-style crab boil restaurant Pirata Luchi quietly opened on Saturday at 4606 E. 29th St. The space previously held El Taquito King and before that, a second location for Mexican restaurant El Sur.

Operating hours are listed as 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday – Wednesday and 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Thursday. We swung by Tuesday for more information, but they had a sign up stating they were closed that day;  here are the other basic details summed up from their Facebook page.

Seafood is available by the pound; it is boiled in seasoned stock and rubbed with the restaurant’s signature drunken sauce.

Pirata Luchi Seafood by the Pound

  • Snow Crab ($20.99)
  • Crawfish ($11.99)
  • Shrimp ($15.99)
  • Boil Lobster ($28.99)
  • Sampler Combo ($30.25) – half-pound of shrimp, half-pound of crawfish, half-pound of snow crab, half-pound of sausage, red potato, corn on the cob

The menu also offers a variety of fried seafood baskets, shrimp and cheese enchiladas, shrimp or beef quesadillas, fish or meat hamburgers, ceviche or shrimp tostadas, salad, and steak. The Facebook page also features a six pack of beer “Sailor Style,” which appears to include cucumbers, shrimp, Tajín, Hot Cheetos, and chamoy.

Stay tuned for additional details.
