The Bighorn Fire, which was sparked by lightning near Pusch Ridge on June 5, has been tearing through the area, and so far it hasn’t been very easy to extinguish.

However, Sentinel Peak Brewing Company is lending a helping hand by donating meals to the crew members of the Mount Lemmon Fire District.

“It’s a little something we can do to provide for the crew who are not only working to protect the mountain and the community, but they are protecting their own homes,” said Matt Gordon, COO of Sentinel Peak Brewing Company and member of the Golder Ranch Ranch Fire District.

There’s a way others can lend a hand, too.

Right now, Sentinel Peak Brewing is using all of the proceeds from Heatwave Hefeweizen growlers fills for more food donations. Also, any fire crew battling the Bighorn Fire can stop by either location for penny pints (the first two pints) and half-price meals.

“Before I co-founded the brewery, I was a new firefighter who got my start at Mount Lemmon Fire District,” said Gordon. “During my time there I was involved in fighting both the Bullock Fire and the Aspen Fire where many of my coworkers lost their homes and businesses. I learned a great deal about how close the ‘fire family’ is and how we can all support each over in times of need.”

Sentinel Peak Brewing Company is located at 4746 E. Grant Rd. and 9155 E. Tanque Verde Rd. For more information, visit sentinelpeakbrewing.com.
