Something’s brewing on the corner of Ninth Street and Fourth Avenue.
It’s been in the works for nearly a year and Dillinger Brewing Company is officially ready to open its new taproom at 402 E. Ninth St. on Friday, May 21.
The historic spot was originally built as a bakery called the Royal Bakery in the early part of the 1900s. The Coronado Hotel was built around it, and most recently housed The Coronet for five years.
“We’re going to have 12 of our beers on tap,” said Aaron Long, co-owner of Dillinger Brewing Company, “Plus, ciders, wine, Kombucha, and cold brew. The new spot will work as a taproom with an expanded barrel-aging program in the basement.”
With the absence of the recently shut down Public Brewhouse, it’ll be nice to see a brewery dishing out the goods on the corner that includes favorites like The Shanty, Ermanos Craft Beer and Wine Bar, and Revel Wine Bar.
Expect to find a weekday Happy Hour and plenty of other events, too.
“Our events will include ‘Geeks Who Drink’ trivia on Wednesdays, personal pitcher deals on Sundays, and more as we figure them out, such as pop-up markets from other Fourth Avenue businesses,” said Long.
Plus, it’s another addition to the patio scene in Tucson, equipped with comfy seating and a bar that’s perfect for people-watching and gazing at the setting sun.
The new spot’s hours of operation will be 3 – 10 p.m. on Tuesday – Thursday, 3 – 11 p.m. on Friday, noon – 11 p.m. on Saturday, and noon – 8 p.m. on Sunday. If you’re wondering about Dillinger Brewing’s original location at 3895 N. Oracle Rd., it’s remaining fully functional, too, including the beer brewing operations and the taproom.
