Sip, taste & dance your way into the new year

Goodness. 2021 sure flew by fast, didn’t it? The city welcomed a handful of new restaurants and bars, said goodbye to some, and then celebrated plenty of anniversaries throughout the year.

Much like New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day last year, local restaurants and businesses are celebrating any which way they can. Whether it be a fancy dinner or some incredible drink specials, there ought to be something out there that’ll catch your attention.

So, no matter how you decide to welcome the new year, try celebrating it locally. Many places are open, but here are a few that are offering something special for the holiday.

1912 Brewing Company

This New Year’s Eve from 1 – 11 p.m., 1912 Brewing Company wants you to dance the night away and welcome the New Year with some tasty brews. They’re hosting a disco-themed party so dress up in your grooviest dancing shoes. The ball will be dropping at 10 p.m. with a complimentary champagne toast.

Here’s a fun spot to shake your tail feather this New Year’s Eve. From 8 p.m. – 1 a.m. on Friday, December 31, the cider house is live music, a sparkly cider toast at midnight, and Jell-O Cider Shots. Keep in mind, they’re opening earlier in the day at 2 p.m. if you’d rather party sooner.

Borderlands Brewing Company

The brewery nestled along the train tracks in downtown Tucson is staying open later — until the ball drops at midnight — so stop on by for a beer, taco, and good times out on the patio or inside the taproom. Heck, bring your dog along, too.

Brother John’s is celebrating the New Year on Friday, December 31 beginning at 9 p.m. It’s also their anniversary, so it’s a double whammy of opportunities to party. There’s going to be a $25 cover to get into the celebration, which includes live music by the Zona Libre, a balloon drop, party favors, a champagne toast, and — last but not least — free menudo after midnight.

Ring in 2022 with craft beer and cocktails in Marana. Casa will be throwing a party on Friday, December 31 from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m., featuring $10 Gucci Maine Blue Champagne all night. Plus, there’s a champagne toast at midnight.

The celebration is happening inside the Casa Luna Ballroom at Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort on Friday, December 31. You can expect to find music, food, and a dandy celebration to ring in 2022.

The dinner buffet is from 6:30 – 9 p.m., the dessert buffet is from 9 – 11 p.m., and the dance party starts cuttin’ the rug at 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. If you want to enjoy all three, it’s $100 per person and then just $35 per person for the dessert and dance party.

The historic hotel is throwing a “101 Years of New Year’s Eve” party from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m. Friday, December 31. Tickets are $75 per person and include a champagne toast, a Fluer de Congress cocktail, a treat from the Seafood Truck, a photo booth, a seance ticket, fireworks, live music, a speakeasy whiskey bar, and all of the entertainment happening that night.

Oh, and you need to be at least 21 years old to attend.
