One of Tucson’s leaders in sustainably-sourced fare, 5 Points Market & Restaurant, has announced that they’re fixin’ to shake things up and open a second location… on the east coast. That’s right.
The passion-driven vision of co-owner, Jasper Ludwig, which has caught the hearts and bellies of many here in Tucson over the last eight years, will open the doors to The Alna Store in Mid-Coast, a region of Maine, before the end of 2022.
“We have long envisioned bringing the 5 points business model to my hometown,” said Ludwig, “and in the dark depths of winter in 2020, we started a conversation about buying a restaurant and market seven minutes up the road from where I was born and raised.”
With funding solidified this past spring, the last six months have been committed to bringing this new vision to life.
Much like 5 Points, The Alna Store will feature a selection of natural wine, an in-house bakery, and solid breakfast and lunch options that support local farmers, makers, and other resources. However, The Alna Store will also expand upon the offerings with seasonal happy hour small plates, dinner service, and a thoughtful cocktail program.
With a timeline currently on track to kick off service sometime in November, we’re excited to celebrate this team’s cross-country expansion.
