Tucson-native, Sam Fox, and his team at Fox Restaurant Concepts (FRC), are excited to announce the opening of one of its newest dining experiences in Tucson. Flower Child, the “Healthy Food for a Happy World” restaurant located at 2960 N. Campbell Ave., is hosting its Grand Opening on Tuesday, April 4.

Located at the Campbell Plaza in midtown, Flower Child will introduce its new “Flower favs,” seasonal dishes and drinks, and beloved fan favorites found at its other locations.
“Opening a restaurant is a show of love for the city and for the people who will eat there,” said Fox. “Bringing Flower Child to Tucson — to all my friends, family, and the incredible community who has supported us since the beginning – is immensely special. I‘m looking forward to serving our Tucson friends Flower Child.”

Where it all began
Starting in Tucson with the opening of the original Wildflower restaurant in 1998, Fox created Fox Restaurant Concepts and has since introduced dozens of other brands/concepts around the country.
He’s now looking forward to opening a location in the place where it all began, joining fellow FRC brands Wildflower, Culinary Dropout, Blanco Cocina + Cantina, and Zinburger — in addition to Doughbird, which is opening in the next couple of weeks after Flower Child.
Grand Opening Celebration
Flower Child is throwing a party for its official Grand Opening with a variety of local partnerships and activations, a giveback day, and giveaways.
All guests are encouraged to download the Flower Child app. Why, you ask? Well, if you download the app and place an order (using the app) during the opening week, you’ve got a chance to win a $1,000 app credit. The app can be used to place an order for pick-up or delivery, view the menu, scan to pay in-restaurant, and earn rewards such as free dishes, birthday treats, and other nifty things in that department.

Need a job?
Flower Child is currently hiring for all hourly positions at the Tucson location, including both front and back of house. They are looking for folks who are “passionate about convenient, nutritious eating, embody the spirit of positivity and dedication, and aim to serve and make guests smile within a fast-paced environment.”
You can apply in person now until Saturday, March 25 (except Sundays) from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The available positions are also online, where there’s the option to apply, too.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
