Labor Day 2023: Chili Cook-Off, Live Music & More in Tucson

Three-day weekends are always a treasure so get out there and do something fun. Here’s a list of local spots that are hosting something special on Labor Day or the days leading up to Monday.

Chili Cook-Off at MotoSonora Brewing

Monday, September 4 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Local breweries and bars will be competing for the best chili at MotoSonora Brewing on Labor Day, September 4. From 4 – 6 p.m., $12 gets you all of the chili samples you’d like and then a pint of beer. Plus, you’ll get to vote for the winner. The competing breweries and bars include MotoSonora Brewing, Barrio Brewing, Dragoon Brewing, Crooked Tooth Brewing, Borderlands Brewing, Saint Charles Tavern, and Substance Diner.

Hosted by Princess Prozac, each ticket ($15) includes one seat at the table, your choice of beverage (bottled beer, draft beer, wells cocktail, or an N/A drink), and then a dish from their Morning Madness menu. Seating begins at 10:30 a.m.

Put on your Hawaiian gear and enjoy live music from Steel del Sol, a Hawaiian buffet-themed dinner, and tropical cocktail specials.  The price ($27) includes entry to the festival, dinner, and dessert. Open seating indoors and outdoors and is first come, first serve. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and music starts at 4 p.m.
