Labor Day weekend runs Friday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 7, and Tucson's restaurant and bar scene gives locals plenty of reasons to stay local. This year, the holiday also coincides with the opening weekend of the 8th Annual Sonoran Restaurant Week, extending the celebration well into the following week.

Sonoran Restaurant Week at restaurants throughout Tucson (Sept. 4-13)
The 8th Annual Sonoran Restaurant Week runs Sept. 4-13, with more than 120 restaurants offering prix-fixe menus priced at $15, $25, $35, $45, or $55 per person. Each menu is discounted at least 20% below the regular menu value. No pass, coupon, or code is required. Just ask for the Restaurant Week menu when you sit down.

Inca’s Peruvian Cuisine special dinner (Sept. 4, 6 p.m.)
Inca's Peruvian Cuisine hosts a four-course dinner with live music by Annamary Smith. The evening opens with a welcome round of the restaurant's signature pisco sour, with red or white wine available as a substitute.
First course: Causa Rellena Imported yellow potato cakes stuffed with a choice of chicken, shrimp, or tuna.
Second course: Ceviche Mixto Fresh white fish and assorted seafood marinated in lime juice and Peruvian rocoto pepper, served with sweet potato and Peruvian corn. Contains raw seafood.
Third course: choice of entree Diners choose from Lomo Saltado, tender Angus beef sautéed with onions, tomatoes, parsley, and Peruvian spices, served with jasmine rice and potatoes; Pescado a lo Macho, pan-seared white fish topped with assorted seafood in a smooth rocoto pepper sauce, served with jasmine rice; or Ají de Gallina, tender pulled chicken in a creamy ají amarillo and roasted walnut sauce, served over potatoes with jasmine rice.
Fourth course: Crema Volteada Traditional Peruvian creamy custard crowned with caramel sauce.

La Rosa — Seoul Electric (Sept. 4)
800 N. Country Club Rd. | Doors at 8 p.m., show at 9 p.m. | 18+, $10 admission
La Rosa joins the Tucson Comic-Con after-hours lineup this year, and it's also hosting Seoul Electric, a K-pop and EDM dance party presented by Tucson Asian Night Market. The event features DJs Tony, Matt P, Shorty, and WaiWai, alongside performances from Undershore, Zang, Iris Dance, and A Young Grasshopper. Guests can browse a K-pop vendor courtyard, sing karaoke with Ricky and Lawrence, and stop by the Mai photo booth. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 21+ event. Since Comic-Con wristbands often carry weight at La Rosa's after-hours events, cosplayers looking to swap one nerdy night out for another might find this the easiest crossover on the list. Sisters Restaurant & Bar will also feature a one-night-only bulgogi pizza special, which includes beef, kimchi purée (pineapple and Asian pear in the puree), sesame oil, sesame seed, provolone, mozzarella, and ginger soy gochujang.

Vegan Tucson Night Market at Rillito Park (Sept. 5, 6-10 p.m.)

Tucson's quarterly, entirely plant-based pop-up market returns to the Rillito Park Farmers Market Food Pavilions for an evening of vegan food, drinks, and shopping. Free to attend, rain or shine. The market features 67 vendors spanning hot and savory food, desserts, beverages, and local shopping, with music from Visionary House Collective. Dogs are welcome, and parking is free.
Penca special dinner (Saturday, Sept. 5, 5:30 p.m.)
261 S. Avenida del Convento
Penca pairs a coursed dinner with craft cocktails and an extensive agave spirits selection, built around elevated central Mexican cuisine and seasonal ingredients. Dinner runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Primero Ahi tuna aguachile with radish, cucumber, and hoja santa oil. Paired with the Reviva cocktail, made with hoja santa cordial, lemon, and cava.
Entrada Arrachera a la parrilla, a 10-ounce skirt steak served with avocado and nopal pico, sourdough tortillas, and salsa macha oil. A vegan option is available upon request. Paired with the El Cardón cocktail, made with mezcal, nopal, lime, and agua de piedra.
Postre Prickly pear ice cream with candied nopal. Paired with a toasted milk chocolate-washed Fernet Vallet.
