Tucson Tamale Unveils New ‘Tucson Foods’ Packaging Design

April 26, 2024
By Matt Sterner

The team behind Tucson Tamale Company is in the process of rolling out a brand-new packaging design for all of its products — Tucson Foods. The updated packaging came about after listening to consumer feedback.

Also, Sherry and Todd Martin want to ensure consistency across a range of new product lines.

“The decision to revamp our packaging was a dynamic one, considerate of our history, the company’s future, and also consumer shopping behavior,” said Sherry, co-founder of Tucson Foods and Tucson Tamale.

The new name, Tucson Foods, is only going to be on the brand’s packaging — the storefront at 7286 N. Oracle Rd. will remain as Tucson Tamale Market.

The visual changes are arriving as the brand premiers two new items (Tamale Bites and Fresh Pourable Salsas) alongside their beloved hand-rolled frozen tamales.

The Tucson Foods packaging’s color scheme was inspired by Mexican folk art and the Sonoran Desert culture. “Our goal was to offer packaging that communicates our focus on flavor, our Mexican-American roots, and that we’re a company about ease and convenience,” Sherry added.

The release of new packaging will be a gradual process so you can expect to see the new design on shelves anytime between right now into the following year. Hey, maybe snag one of the original packages, preserve it inside a glass case, and then sell it on eBay in 10 years!
