2 Local Businesses to Open Inside the Former Flora’s Market Run

"Two Great Concepts Under One Roof."

Less than a month ago, Flora’s Market Run permanently closed at 2513 E. Sixth St. The half-grocery store, half-restaurant moved into the historic building after Rincon Market’s more than 90-year run ended in 2020. Now, two local spots are moving into the corner space at Tucson Boulevard and Sixth Street.

Meet The Village at Sam Hughes — a new partnership between Sonoran House and Redbird Scratch Kitchen + Bar.

This will mark the second location for both Sonoran House, which opened in August 2024 at 1610 N. Tucson Blvd., and Redbird, now celebrating its first anniversary at 6444 N. Oracle Rd.

“This new chapter is all about growing our community, bringing more of what you love about Sonoran House to a new neighborhood, and collaborating with Redbird, a restaurant we admire for their passion for great food and local flavor,” said Arianna Wilson and Courtney Bedient of Sonoran House.

“We are super excited to continue to serve our community with comfort classics and craft cocktails while providing value with our hospitality,” said Sergio Pinon of Redbird. “We are delighted to receive all the support this last year and make Redbird an iconic destination for foodies.”

If you’re familiar with Flora’s Market Run’s layout, the two businesses will utilize both sides of the building — the former market area and the dining room/kitchen space.

Expect Sonoran House’s signature coffee, a seating area, tea, beer, and wine, alongside Redbird’s craft cocktails and food menu from its north-side location.

“None of this would be possible without the love and support we’ve received from you —our loyal customers who have made Sonoran House a special place to be,” Wilson and Bedient added. “Whether you’ve been with us from day one or you’re just discovering what we’re all about, we can’t wait to share this exciting new adventure with you.”

Sonoran House and Redbird both aim to open sometime this summer. Stay tuned for the official opening dates.
