PCFA will host a conversation about food ways and belonging with local professor and author, Melani Martinez this November. Published in 2024, her book, The Molino: A Memoir, tells the story of her family’s downtown eatery, El Rapido, which operated from 1933 to 2000. The book details the family’s day-to-day, the significance of connection, and the impact of cultural displacement. Incorporating in her personal experiences of growing up with the family business, Martinez weaves a narrative of belonging and transformation through food.
