Heidi Yribar, the Founder and CEO of Antsy Nancy, is always up to something, which is a great thing. She and the creative team now have a second location — making even more space for even more workshops and classes.
The original location is at 5655 E. River Rd. and the new spot opened earlier this year at the Tucson Mall, 4500 N. Oracle Rd. #110.
Right now, enrollment is open for Antsy Nancy’s Weekly Summer Camps for Kids.

Don’t hesitate to sign up the young ones for these workshops because they usually fill up quickly! The Summer Camps kick off on Monday, May 27, and are then sprinkled throughout the following months.
“We have some best-selling camps from last year that we are bringing back, like French Baking Week, where campers will learn to make macarons, croissants, and madeleines,” said Yribar.
During Cake Decorating Week, they’ll teach piping and fondant skills, and once Spa Week rolls around, campers will make bath bombs and melt-and-pour soaps.
“We’ve also developed a few new camps we’re super excited about,” Yribar added. “We’re introducing a Baking Around the World morning session and ‘What’s for Dinner?’ — our Cooking Around the World afternoon session. Kiddos have the option to take both sessions, spending 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Antsy Nancy and heading home with dinner and dessert for their family of four. Our ‘Around the World’ menu includes tasty items like Greek turkey gyros and baklava, and Mexican street tacos and churros.”
Another camp they’re pumped about is Artists and Crafts Week.
Each day, participants will focus on the artwork of one of the masters (Picasso, Degas, Monet, Van Gogh, and Da Vinci) before working on an activity inspired by one of their most famous works of art. For example, when studying Vincent Van Gogh, they’ll create sunflower floral arrangements.
“During our focus on Edgar Degas, we will create no-sew ballerina tutus and bowties,” said Yribar.

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
