Best iced coffee in Tucson? Here are 13 coffee shops with killer cold brew

Jun 22, 20175 min read

Oh coffee, the most important meal of the day. It’s not easy to sip on a piping hot beverage when it’s 115 degrees out, but there are more than a few local places to get your fix without scalding your tongue. Survive the summer with some of the best iced coffee in Tucson in the form of cold brew at the following coffee shops.

Barista del Barrio

1002 N. Grande Ave.

A post shared by Tucson Foodie (@tucsonfoodie) on

While they serve fun coffee variations with horchata and Mexican chocolate, their chorizo breakfast burrito is also one of the best in town. And they’re just so darned nice. FYI though, they’re closed Tuesdays.

Cafe con Leche

1439 S. 4th Ave.

Cafe con Leche uses beans from the local Hermosa Coffee Roasters. For another iced treat, try their horchata latte.

Enjoy the peaceful space inside or in the garden. If they’re cooking up sausages, pierogi, and pretzels outside, don’t miss out.

Caffe Luce

4205 N. Campbell Ave. #125 • 245 E. Congress St.

A post shared by Caffe Luce (@caffeluce) on

If you’re around the University area, mainly Main Gate Square, and are jonesing for a delicious cup of cold joe, make your way to Caffe Luce. It is no wonder that it seems to be a local hot spot with the college crowd: peace and quiet to get in some last minute cramming  and enough coffee to make sure you don’t falter in your studies.

If you’re out for a night downtown, skip the Red Bull and vodka and visit the location on Congress to order the iced toddy with a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey and cream.

Coffee Times

3401 E. Speedway Blvd.

During this hour, you can think of all the missed text messages you likely don’t have, you can drink more coffee, or you can order food from Exo’s small kitchen such as Flower Toast with Ricotta, Barrel Cactus Calamondin Lime Jam, Desert Willow Blossoms, Salt.

Presta Coffee Roasters

2502 N. 1st Ave. #100  • 100 S. Avenida del Convento

Coffee and beer; sounds like the Mad Men office. Unlike the Mad Men office, the scene here is less stressful and more conducive  to actually getting work done. This is one is the only local place to enjoy an espresso tonic. That’s right, your favorite caffeinated beverage now with quinine. Or you could stick with the cold brew, we’re not telling you how to live your life.

Between the pools, hot spring and cold plunge, water slide, yoga, live music, complimentary bike rentals, and their nostalgic “Summer Rewind” experience, there was always something to do. We never left the resort.

The highlight at their on-site restaurant, Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails, was the Pollo Con Rajas - perfectly cooked chicken over a rich creamed poblano, onion, and corn mestizaje. And if you’re at their Sundance Café for breakfast, get the pozole. It’s made from a family recipe that became such a guest favorite it earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
