Tucson Foodie has partnered with Tucson Craft Beer Crawl for 2016 and is proud to feature Brewer Profiles. Each profile features a select Craft Beer Crawl brewer. This profile features Zach Schroeder.

How and when did you first become interested in beer?

I came from a family and a group of friends that are originally from Milwaukee. Beer was a big part of our culture growing up in Tucson.

What do you think you bring to the brewing game that makes you stand out?

I developed a relationship with the AZ craft beer drinkers at an early stage in my career and have a good understanding of where they’re coming from. I’m a Wildcat!

Top five beers you’ve sampled recently (only include ONE of yours)

  1. Hustler by Huss Brewing
  2. Lemon Lime Gose by The Perch Pub & Brewery
  3. Otra Ves by Sierra Nevada Brewing
  4. Lumberyard Knotty Pine
  5. Cranberry Oatmeal Stout by Phoenix Ale BreweryMarble Red

Beers you’ll be featuring at the beer crawl?

Camelback IPA, Watermelon Ale, Biltmore Blonde, and Orange Peel IPA.

After 4pm, @Talegacoffee at 177 N. Church Ave. transforms into @_Velvetcowboy, serving cocktails, tapas, and late-night bar energy. Velvet Cowboy’s grand opening is Oct. 16, with upcoming events including drag brunches, DJs, and live music.🪩

This weekend’s hours are Saturday from 2pm to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10pm. Featured in this video is the Chilte(penis) martini special, made with chiltepin vodka, agua de chiltepin, and pickle juice, available until they sell out.🍸

“Opening this place feels a little surreal. To now have a space where we can bring together coffee, food, art, booze, and all the weird things we love feels like a reflection of how far we’ve come.” —Tyler Melo
