What is at the end of my fork matters even more these days. I experienced a heart attack, bypass surgery with complications, and now live with heart failure. Decades before these life-changing health challenges, I’ve been a wellness advocate and participant in all aspects of health.

Best Vietnamese Restaurants in Tucson

When many people think of Vietnamese food, their mind goes straight to pho. While the famous noodle soup is beloved worldwide, don’t be afraid to venture into other soups. Fragrant lemongrass, bold heat, and deeply umami-rich await you.

Furthermore, look at other entrees beyond banh mi and spring (or summer) rolls. Keep an eye out for crispy sizzling crepes known as banh xeo and com tam rice plates.

The fine folks/owners of The CorkSally Shamrell-Murphy and Glenn Murphy, purchased the cowboy dive bar, Saddlehorn Saloon, from previous owner Lyn Hadler. The Murphys then announced that changes were coming, and now they’re ready to debut the new space.

UGLY BUT HONEST PIZZA IS NOW OPEN IN FIVE POINTS

@Uglybuthonestpizzeria is officially open! After a successful soft launch, this new pizzeria and beer garden at 733 S. Stone Ave. is now serving up pizza (whole & by the slice), calzones, cannoli, and a solid beer lineup.

2025 Tucson Craft Beer Crawl

This year, the Tucson Craft Beer Crawl is hosting at least 30 local, regional, national, and international beverage makers. You’ll see some newcomers popping up in February like Slow Body BeerBrick Box Brewery (formerly Thunder Canyon Brewer), and Black Bridge Brewing, which is bringing its beers down from Kingman, Arizona.

José Contreras, chef and owner of @Ameliastucson, is headed to New York City to cook alongside chef Alam Méndez of Washington, D.C.‘s Apapacho Taqueria for a collaborative dinner at the James Beard Foundation’s Platform at Pier 57.

The Aug. 11 dinner will celebrate the culinary traditions of Sonora and Oaxaca through a multi course menu centered on heirloom corn, traditional masa, and coastal flavors. Guests will also enjoy a cocktail reception, Mijenta Tequila pairings, and a Q&A with both chefs. The event begins at 6:30 pm at @Pier57.nyc. Tickets are $210 for dining table seats and $250 for the chef’s counter, and are available now at Jamesbeard.org.
