Just a few months ago, the Saddlehorn Saloon closed. However, the bar at 6300 E. Tanque Verde Rd. didn’t hang up its hat permanently.
The fine folks/owners of The Cork, Sally Shamrell-Murphy and Glenn Murphy, purchased the cowboy dive bar from previous owner Lyn Hadler. The Murphys then announced that changes were coming, and now they’re ready to debut the new space.
Now that the dust has settled, UnCork’d Kitchen & Cocktails is set to open to the public on Friday, February 7, from 3 p.m. – midnight.
If you’re unfamiliar with this part of town, UnCork’d Kitchen & Cocktails is located right where Wilmot Road curves into Tanque Verde Road — just a two-minute walk from The Cork.
The Saddlehorn Saloon operated in the space since the ’90s, but the building itself is at least 60 years old. Since November 2024, renovations have been underway to transform the dive bar into a go-to food and drink spot on Tucson’s east side.
Expect a menu of craft cocktails, classic beers, new brews, and an impressive selection of wines. Then there’s the “kitchen” aspect of the concept — coming in hot with a gastropub-style menu featuring bites for lunch and dinner from a newly remodeled kitchen.
Additionally, UnCork’d Kitchen & Cocktails will host live music — like “BBQ & Blues” on Sundays — beginning sometime in late February.
On Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8, the bar is open from 3 p.m. to midnight. Then on Sunday, February 9, they’ll be open from 3 – 11 p.m.
Starting on Monday, February 10, the new cocktail lounge’s regular hours of operation kicks in: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on Sunday – Thursday, and 11 a.m. – midnight on Friday and Saturday.
A grand opening celebration is in the works (stay tuned for the official date), but in the meantime, stop by the bar and make some new memories.
