Fourth Avenue’s Delectables Restaurant & Catering will offer its final day of restaurant service on June 30.
“I grew up on the avenue,” said Donna DiFiore, owner of Delectables. “I’ve been here since I’m 21, I’m now 63. My whole adulthood was formed on this lovely avenue. My heart is going to stay here.”
Delectables originally opened in 1973, offering New American cuisine including sandwiches, salads, pastas, and more.
DiFiore began waiting tables at Delectables in 1976 and was a manager by the time the restaurant moved across the street to 533 N. 4th Ave. in 1979. She purchased the restaurant within a few years in 1982 and the building in 1988.
The building was sold to a Scottsdale investor, who will keep the other tenants, Difore said. A new restaurant will take over the Delectables space, though details have not been finalized yet.
Delectables Catering will continue to operate with the same contact information: (520) 884-9289 and info@delectables.com.
Delectables Restaurant & Catering is located at 533 N. 4th Ave. and can be reached at (520) 884-9289. For more information, visit delectables.com.
