A Community Fundraiser With Deep Roots
Empty Bowls Tucson returns Saturday, March 7, at the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center. The annual fundraiser supports Interfaith Community Services food banks across Pima County.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets cost $40 and include food, activities, and a handmade bowl.
Proceeds support ICS programs that address food insecurity and financial instability. In 2025, ICS distributed 2.2 million pounds of food countywide.
What to Expect at Empty Bowls Tucson
Guests can sample signature soups, breads, and desserts from local restaurants. Each attendee selects a handmade pottery bowl to take home.
The event also features a raffle and silent auction. Prizes include jewelry, artwork, home décor, and unique local experiences.
Empty Bowls Tucson marks the organization’s 15th fundraiser. ICS also celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026.
Supporting Food Security Across Pima County
“Proceeds from Empty Bowls directly benefit ICS food banks and the wide range of services we provide across Pima County,” said Tom McKinney, CEO of ICS. “We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of over a hundred volunteers and the ongoing support from the Tucson community. Our goal is to raise vital funds to combat food insecurity and help individuals and families overcome the significant challenges they face.”
ICS also provides emergency financial aid, workforce development support, and senior services. These programs help residents move from crisis to stability.
The fundraiser remains a critical source of annual funding. Organizers credit volunteers, donors, and community partners for its longevity.
