The beloved Patio Pig tour at Jonathan’s Cork is making its final run this year.
Patio Pig started 20 years ago as a way to celebrate the heat and welcome the monsoon. However, over the last few years the heat has been getting too hot to handle.
“Sometimes events run their course and this seems it is also the case for Patio Pig,” said Jonathan Landeen, chef and co-owner of Jonathan’s Cork. “Our attendance has dwindled a bit over the last three years and the event production is such that it takes a certain amount of participation to retain a really great buffet. I am unwilling to do less than we have done in the past for all of our great regulars who attend. I would rather kill it then see it die!”
Beginning Thursday, June 8, Jonathan’s Cork will host the last of its annual roasted pig buffet that occurs every Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. in June. The final Patio Pig will be on June 29.
Each week will feature a new menu and drink specials.
Previous Patio Pigs featured themes from around the world, but this year will feature the following American regional themes:
- Thursday, June 8 — Georgia
- Thursday, June 15 — New Orleans
- Thursday, June 22 — Texas
- Thursday, June 29 — Western
The buffet is priced at $25 per person.
“Who knows what great event might come from the passing of Patio Pig,” Landeen said. “Stay tuned next year, you never know.”
