The AC Hotel Tucson by Marriott is celebrating the placement of the final beam on its building by hosting a “topping-out” block party 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 on the patio of Connect Coworking.
The event features free ice cream from HUB Ice Cream Factory, free coffee from Caffe Luce, and free bites from Charro Steak. A free photo booth with props will be on site as well.
Fiamme Pizza Napoletana and additional food trucks will sell food, while the cash bar will feature their signature AC Hotel Gin & Tonic along with beer and wine.
Guests will also see an exclusive preview of AC Hotel’s upcoming interior and exterior hotel design.
Mayor Jonathan Rothschild, Council Member Steve Kozachik, developer Scott Stiteler, and Rio Nuevo board member Mark Irvin will speak beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Live music will be provided by Hey, Bucko, Shrimp Chaperone, and more.
Attendance is free and open to the public. A portion of beverage sales will be donated to Sister Jose Women’s Center, a downtown non-profit organization dedicated to the care of homeless women in Tucson.
The AC Hotel is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017. The eight-story building will feature 136 hotel rooms, a rooftop pool and bar, fitness center, and 1500 square-feet of meeting space.
