Southern restaurant Hammbone’s Meat & Three announced its closure on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon:
It is with a very heavy heart that we must announce our closure.
After a series of necessary repairs were revealed, it has become impossible for us to continue.
Restaurants are very tough business, especially nowadays. We could go on with the reasons/excuses, like bad location, a landlord with a shotty building and unwillingness to help, constant hikes in wages, ballooned food costs, dope fiends harassing guests on their way in, the city and police not protecting or helping the area, credit card fees, point of sales percentages, taxes, insurance, paper goods costs – ALL shooting through the roof on us; everyone having their hands in the restaurant’s pocket, and so on and so forth.
However, at the end of the day, it is on me. I didn’t create a concept and complete experience to attract and retain enough guests to cover all of the above-mentioned costs. For that reason, I apologize to all the guests and great regulars that we did have, and to the staff and their families, most of all.
Thank you for all of those who came in, shared social posts, gave us great reviews, made reels and videos, told friends and family about us, etc.
We really enjoyed meeting, getting to know, and feeding you for the time we were able to.

Hammbone’s opened in September 2024 with the goal to provide affordable family-style meals with a Southern approach.
