Although Iron Chef Tucson recently concluded, competitors Michael Elefante from Mama Louisa’s and Travis Peters from the Parish both take great pride in the peach dishes they created for the event.
While Peters was crowned the winner of the battle, it’s not too late to taste both of their peach dishes to determine the winner for yourself.
For about two more weeks, Mama Louisa’s will feature Elefante’s peach dishes on special:
- Peach Gazpacho – peach, Stella Artois Cidre, sunflower, serrano, lime crema ($7)
- Tender Bibb Lettuce Salad – peaches, fennel, peach Bellini vinaigrette, pecan-crusted goat cheese balls ($7)
- Peach & Lamb Ravioli with Balsamic & Rosemary Marinated Lamb Chops – parmesan crisps, peach & Stella Artois demi-glace ($17)
- Peach & Apricot Jam Crepe – macerated berries, Stella Artois Cidre Chantilly cream ($7)
Guests can save a few bucks by ordering the all four courses as a prix fixe dinner for $34. The special dishes have been selling out, so arrive earlier if you can.
Meanwhile at the Parish, Everything is Peachy with a new peach dish, peach dessert, and peach drink special each weekend. Once the specials are done late summer, Peters’ four courses will be featured in a one-night prix fixe dinner in partnership with Stella Artois (date and additional details to be announced):
- Cherrywood Smoked Shrimp Ceviche – pickled peach, salt-cured yolk, Anaheim peach hot sauce, black pepper crackers
- Stella Artois Cidre Peach Soup – caramelized onion, bacon, paprika-spiked pecans, grilled peach, Stella Artois croutons
- Peach, Shrimp & Bacon Sauté – bitter greens, brown butter carrot purée, Stella Artois beer-braised lamb, chimichurri, bacon powder
- Oven-Roasted Spicy Peach – brown sugar grits, lardons, baby arugula, black peach foam, foie gras cream, toasted pepita pesto
Will the minimalist, traditional Italian-influenced Elefante menu tickle your fancy? Or will the experimental, no-holds-barred Southern-inspired Peters menu get you going? Eat both and let us know in the comments.
