The Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recently announced its honorees for this year’s Noche de Exitos & Bi-National Awards Gala.

  • Hispanic Businessman of the Year: Don Guerra of Barrio Bread
  • Hispanic Businesswomen of the Year: Isabel Montaño, Erica Franco, Sandra Franco – La Estrella Bakery
  • Small/Medium Business of the Year: Buendia Breakfast & Lunch Cafe

The honorees will be recognized at the Awards Gala on Friday, November 3 at the Casino del Sol Resort & Spa.

In a joint statement, Rob Elias, President/CEO, and Board Chair Karla Bernal Morales of THCC expressed their excitement: “This event holds immense significance for us as we spotlight those making a meaningful impact in our region. We take great pleasure in celebrating and honoring these remarkable individuals.”

José Contreras, chef and owner of @Ameliastucson, is headed to New York City to cook alongside chef Alam Méndez of Washington, D.C.‘s Apapacho Taqueria for a collaborative dinner at the James Beard Foundation’s Platform at Pier 57. The Aug. 11 dinner will celebrate the culinary traditions of Sonora and Oaxaca through a multi course menu centered on heirloom corn, traditional masa, and coastal flavors. Guests will also enjoy a cocktail reception, Mijenta Tequila pairings, and a Q&A with both chefs. The event begins at 6:30 pm at @Pier57.nyc.
